I noticed a beautiful bush growing alongside a wall with colourful variegated leaves and imagined it would be a great hiding spot as a kid. I thought I would give watercolours a try and painted my son asleep in the bushes. It reminded me then of the 1899 Henry Lawson poem 'The babies in the Bush' so decided to name it for the last line of that poignant poem. Unframed.
