I spent my childhood in a small opal mining town White Cliffs. There we lived underground in a dugout my father built. the doors to the dugout are at the front of the towel. My mother was the school teacher at the local school. My father an opal miner. In the 1970s he dug up an opalised plesiosaur. The plesiosaur is pictured dangling from the winch. My father still lives in White Cliffs (he is sitting under the tower) and we are currently converting our childhood home into an artist residency. The sale of this painting will help towards furnishing the residency.
All seven children regularly visit White Cliffs and the beauty and presence of the Country is in our hearts. We are all connected forever with this part of the world and carry the country with us.
